The Newest HOF Hit is Posted!

After receiving confirmation that the video was seen by the lucky recipient, I have now posted the newest Hall of Fame Hit from 643boxbreaks.com and me, StackthePads40!

Behold, in all of its glory, the Linus Omark Auto/Prime Jersey Rookie Card #'d 013/199 hit!
SirSniperJim, a new bidder to my auctions, stole this little gem. I know Edmonton is a gamble for 10-11 cards, but when it hits, it hits big time! I know its not Taylor Hall or Magnus Paajarvi or even Jordan Eberle, but this is a sweet card, none the less. For the final auction price of $12, I think this card should go in one of those advertisements you see iPads and Ferraris going for 86% off retail prices that are totally fake, but this really happened! I've seen the auction for this team and this product go for around 3 times that price so SirSniperJim, congratulation and great pick up! If you ever list it on eBay, please use this image so we can have a watermark advertisement. :)

*FYI: I cannot guarantee that you will always get cards from my breaks, but when you do, good things can appear! Also, buying it bulk helps. LOL.

Another Break Bites the Dust

I'm fresh off another break/post for my newest listing. Another Luxury Suite box has been ripped apart and all that remains is the goodness that was inside!

Thanks to all that bid. I had a lot of new buyers, so that is a huge positive for the 643 site! We need to get the word out not only to support the current number of breakers on the site, but also help out the eBay shunned crowd that is looking for a place to bid on their favorite teams!

Please pass the word any way you can! Like the Facebook page, follow the Twitter feeds, read this blog, and don't for get to bid on the upcoming auctions! :)

We need to push to keep the site fresh! We have 10 breakers listed now so there are going to be a LOT of breaks so we need bidders to help keep us breaking even. Thats all I ask is that I break even after shipping. If I make a little, I invest that into bonuses like the Black Diamond giveaways. I'm not here to profit as I believe collecting this high-end stuff should be affordable!

I really want to buy a tin or two of 10-11 The Cup but I will need some "encouragement" to get it ordered since it retails for so much! I'll need to see some Twitter/Facebook/Blog love!

Explaining "Bonuses"

As you may see from the 643 site, there are a lot of talks about bonuses. Excuse me, I mean +++BONUSES+++!!+!+!!
You just have to love the Auction listing language. It's almost a separate dialect of English that includes a lot of exclamation marks and is mostly in capital letters :)

Well, the way I have gone about bonuses is by 1. Awarding bulk-buyers 2. Awarding users that do not receive a hit, usually x2 or more. In #1, I try to thank the users that buy more than 5 teams. I find that they are going to get a boat load of the cards anyway, but they are also paying the most. I find a team they like from their purchase and I will send out a card (or cards) from my personal collection from one of their teams. If that doesn't work, I will send out a 3-pack of 10-11 Black Diamond Hockey cards.

For #2, the poor soul without a hit, I randomize off 2 random prizes. Sometimes they are cards from my personal collection and sometimes they are 3-packs of 10-11 Black Diamond Hockey cards. I try to give the most I can so most people get something, but it might not happen every time because of the small number of cards in the products I have listed.

The #3 Wild-Card bonus is if a Penguins card is pulled. I usually dont list the Penguins as a team because I am a fan that is trying to build a small collection of cards. I know the team draws a lot, so I take the hit to not list them. Some may find it a little odd, but again, I'm not here to profit. I can prove that because if I pull a Penguins card, I always have a bonus lined up for the buyers. I try to either have some other packs I open on camera. Last time it was an Artifacts blaster box. This time, I have a Collector's Choice Blaster. I'm hoping for Penguins cards and I'm thinking the other buyers are as well due to the extra packs!

In the future I want to give out 1/2 or full refunds. Hopefully I get the guts to do that soon!

As always, I take all feedback on my bonuses as well as suggestions for bonuses!

What is the "White Glove Service"?

For my breaks, I have always use protection. What I mean is that when I break open high-end cards, I know that the buyer (hopefully you), will want the pulls to be in the best shape they can be in.

To ensure this, I open my breaks while wearing white cotton gloves, similar to what museums use for handling old documents and other priceless artifacts. Another comparison can be of what the Stanley Cup curators use when they handle the cup.

I have watched a lot of sport card breaks on youtube (non 643boxbreaks.com sellers) and to see someone getting finger-fudge all over a freshly pulled autograph would upset me to no means. I don't mind having trusted breakers handle the cards, but I don't want to assume you don't mind!

Its just an added benefit I offer for the loyal customer as a thank you for bidding.

A little about Stacks, STP, Stacky, Stack-a-roo...

Ok, I thought I'd post a little about me finally...

IN THE BEGINNING
I grew up in a small Mid-western area and loved baseball. I played every chance I could get and loved every minute of it. I dreamed of growing up and playing like Jose Canseco, Frank Thomas, and Ken Griffey Jr. as these were relatively young players back in the day.

That of course, never happened, but I felt a great connection to them through collecting cards. I was introduced to this great hobby by our family friend, and my long lost brother, Mark.

THE MIDDLE YEARS
The collecting eventually tapered off as I went to High School and college, but I had a few friends that were starting to get into hockey (thanks NHL '94). We eventually started playing roller-hockey in a semi-abandoned tennis court in the summer time. We were barely old enough to drive and constantly teased the curfew laws by playing too late on most occasions. I was the goalie most of the time. I found a certain satisfaction in the denial of celebrations. Plus I was the "largest" :) . We had to make our own nets and fix our own equipment. It was paradise.

We all had our favorite team and favorite player. Whether it be the Penguins, the Avalanche, the Rangers or the, ugh... Redwings. We never missed an opportunity to taunt and rag on the other friends if our team beat theirs the night previous. It was almost like a unalienable right to do this.

GROWING UP
After High School, some went their own ways for college. A few of us were volunteered to play in a men's ice hockey league in the nearby city. We were basically fillers for the roster. We had never played ice hockey and had only skated during open skate sessions. I remember the flurry to buy second-hand pads at a local sport shop not knowing exactly what to buy. I turned into a goalie, naturally and for a self-trained G-man, I think I'm doing alright. I like to play out every now and then on LW, but my heart and soul is splattered on the goal crease.

We revisited roller-hockey in the summers and gained more players. Some of which are still great friends to this day. My hockey friends are definitely the majority of my friends right now. They are also some of the most loyal friends I have ever had.

Hockey cards came around as I was in college. I bought a couple packs of Pinnacle and Black Diamond and decided to see if I knew the names. I knew every name in the packs and found some of the coolest sport photography I had seen. The internet wasn't as prevalent as it is now, so finding some interesting hockey photos were few and far between. It was like looking at a photo album of the best players!

ADULT? WHO, ME?
To wrap up, I got a job, grew up (physically), started earning money, kept playing hockey, and now I have some extra cash to spend on the hockey card habit. I bought an auction from Teeks643 before eBay went postal on box breaking so I was extremely lucky to get linked with his site.

BOX BREAKING SOAP BOX
My philosophy is "Collecting should be fun AND affordable." Box breaking is not something that I wish to get rich at. Heck, if I just break even, I'll be happy. I'm glad this is also the mentality of Teeks and the 643boxbreaks.com site. I just want to try to allow collectors to purchase their favorite teams/players without having to spend the high price the premium cards run now days. Yes, I know the cards are filled with memorabilia, signatures, sticks, tags, patches, tape, sweat, spit, and hair samples, but I'm not sure if I could spend $100-$400 on a pack of 5 cards by myself. This is why I break! Lets get some great stuff and share it with everyone and hand out a crap-load of bonuses too!

THE END!
OK, that's about all I wanted to share. If you read it all, congratulations. If you didn't, good work. you probably saved yourself about 10 minutes :)

BTW

Oh, by the way, the SN for this box is a Jagr box... will it mean good things for the Capitals, Rangers or the Flyers? Who knows!

My luck, nothing from the pens will be drawn. I'm not really diggin the Jags anymore.

I will also be listing a 10-11 UD Ultimate box for breakin' ending Thursday night next week (Sept 1st). This one has THE GREAT1-er number in the SN... see if you can guess it from that hint :)
